SPD collaboration project

About the project...
Problem:
Client with cerebral palsy requires a stick to be held in hand in order for him to access the keyboard. But because of his lack of motor control, he would usually apply great force onto the keyboard and had actually spoilt his electronic communication device before.

The team comprising Low Hock Siew (Electronics Engineering), Poh Tian Seng and Stephen Chan (both from Mechatronics Engineering) embarked on the project after the meeting with Mr Daniel Quek from SPD.

The team came up with a pointer with a soft tip and spring inbuilt to absorb his pressure on the keyboard during work.
